The comic was humorous because both the father and the son had plagiarized. There are four main reasons that make avoiding plagiarism necessary when used other people's works in a paper according to the Prentice Hall Reference Guide, however, anything one writes for that matter should be included. First plagiarism is unethical, morally wrong to copy another's work, it is stealing and unfair to other writers who work hard on the same topic (378). Another reason why plagiarism is wrong is the fact that if on copies someone else's work the plagiarizer does not learn anything nor becomes a better writer (379). Also plagiarizing and getting caught ruins a person's credibility (379), it is like being a conpulsive liar, no one is going to believe a liar if they know one has lied. Furthermore there are serious penalties when plagiarizing, in college, one can and, in many places will, result in a expulsion (379). So, plagiarism in the overall sense is to much work to deal with when commiting it, save some time and trouble and do not plagiarize.
