While I understand your logic, I don't think this is the kind of movie you should watch and be glad you saw. Yes, you should appreciate the education you are earning from this film but (and this is simply my opinion) I think we should be sad we had to watch it. Not to say we should wish we didn't have to watch it, but just be sad knowing that all we can do is watch and there is nothing we can do to save the dead
I enjoyed reading your response. I know what Ian and you are saying, but it's a matter of semantics. You say you are glad you saw the film, and I understand that to mean you are glad you got the educational experience of seeing the film, which is what I understand Ian saying. It's one thing to hear about something so incredibly awful. Our brains can't quite actually comprehend what the descriptions look like on this scale until we actually see it with our own eyes and are able to put the oral and visual descriptions together.
Other people in the ghetto had to look the other way, no human could stand to see the suffering that these people had to endure. Giving them even a small piece of bread would not help anyone, that person would probably have been jumped for that food.
