1. Three guidelines that Eighner follows when dumpster diving are using the sense to evaulate conditions of the found materials, knowing the dumpsters of the given area, checking them regularly, and seeking to always answer the question 'Why is this discarded?'
2. Eighner prepared canned food, pizza, doughnuts, and yogurt. He did not prepare leftovers from homes, poultry, pork, and egg-based food.
3. Eighner describes the differences between a dumpster diver and a can scavenger by describing the scavengers as alcoholic druggies who only grab cans. Dumpster divers carefully pick through the dumpsters and leave anything they don't need.
4. Eighner encounters fire ants, birds, maggots, and cats when dumpster diving.
5. Our group felt that Eighner said he felt sorry for them because he goes dumpster diving with a purpose knowing what he needs, while others just mindlessly wander without a purpose.
6. Eighner's tone is very descriptive but also cynical in a way. His style is very narrative is also like a how-to guide to dumpster diving.
