Doug Hodge-Intro

Hey there! My name is Doug Hodge. I am 24 years old and like long walks on the beach, footprints in the sand, and slow dancing after midnight. Actually that's not true at all! I am 24 years old and from Buffalo, MO. I was born in Germany when my dad was stationed there in the Army and later raised in Missouri.

I'm pretty much a typical person with maybe a few interesting facts about me. I like to watch football, play sports, read, lift weights, run, hunt, fish, and spend time with my family. I have a rather larger family. I'm the oldest of eight kids. And now I have one nephew. So I'm sort of the big "responsible" brother to everyone. I do my best.

I haven't been in college in a few years other than going to military schools. I have been looking forward to finishing my degree for quite some time now and am really excited to get to do so. I'm taking 15 hours and looking to quickly get back in the swing of things.

I have a pretty neat job. I am an Independent Insurance Agent. I get to travel wherever I want in the United States, work what hours I want to for the most part, and get to help families out when they need it the most which is by far my favorite part. Just last month I was in St. Louis, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Nashville, Memphis, and Raleigh, NC. I can also work around home if I choose to. It's pretty flexible.

I am also in the National Guard. It's not too bad. They pay for my school which is really great. But the downside is that Afghanistan is calling my name next year. I basically run a warehouse on a computer program that the Army invented for my job.

All in all, I am most excited about school. As I said before, I have been wanting to go back for quite some time now and I finally get to do so! I look forward to getting to know all of you this semester!

Sounds like a pretty stellar job. I would love to travel everywhere. And yes you did miss a good season but KC will be back stronger this year.

Congratulations on getting into school! I started college in 2001 and took a huge break.. so I too am trying to get back into the swing of things. I don't know how many times I heard that if you take a break from school you probably won't ever go back. I am happy to prove those people wrong ( : Wanted to say thank you for serving our country. My boyfriend is a captain in the army so I can relate a little. good luck with everything!

Wow, you certainly do travel a lot. I never realized being an insurance agent was so seemingly exciting. I hope your tour in Afghanistan is a safe one. Good luck. I tried the service and good old Uncle Sam and I butted heads.

I considered joining the National Guard at one point, but then decided it probably wasn't for me. But some one has to do it and I thank you for that. And the fact that you get to travel a lot sounds like crazy fun!
